Danielle,
I never in a zillion years thought I'd run for office, let alone president of the United States.
I planned to spend my whole career teaching and researching — a dream I got to live because doors of opportunity opened for me.
But when I saw how the middle class is being hollowed out, and how working people are getting the short end of the stick, I knew I had to get into this fight, to make sure everyone else had that same opportunity I did.
For me, this fight is personal, Danielle. That's why I'm still fighting my heart out for working families — but I can't do it alone.
Today is Super Tuesday, and 14 states — representing nearly a third of all delegates in this primary — will cast their votes. I've been talking with voters in all of these states about how we build a country that works for everyone, not just the rich and powerful, but today I'm counting on this grassroots movement to fight like never before.
Together, we can pass the most sweeping anti-corruption plan since Watergate. We can make Medicare for All a reality. We can pass a Green New Deal and defeat the climate crisis. We can cancel student debt and invest in an entire generation's education. And so much more.
Today and every day, we're fighting for all of the people who are getting crushed by costs that are getting heavier and heavier — health care, housing, you name it. For all of the people Washington doesn't listen to — all the people whose voices are drowned out by lobbyists and ignored by career politicians.
We can end Washington corruption, rebuild the middle class, and strengthen our democracy if we just come together, get out there, and fight for it.
