A few things I’m calling for:

Cancelling student debt, banning members of Congress from owning stocks, and much more.
Warren Democrats

Here's my plan for the rest of 2022, Danielle:

I'm going to keep fighting every single day to make sure Democrats use our congressional majorities to deliver more results for the American people.

And I'm going to do my part to protect and expand our razor-thin majorities — so that we can finally abolish the filibuster and pass critical legislation will protect abortion rights, ensure the right to vote and the right to have that vote counted, and level the playing field for working people.

I'm also going to support and elevate progressive champions down the ballot who will make big, structural change in state and local office across the country.

How does that sound?

If you're on board, and if you can make a donation today, chip in $15 — before tonight's big monthly grassroots fundraising deadline — to help make sure we're in the best possible position to dream big, fight hard, and win.

Danielle, here's the way I see it: If we keep fighting side by side, we can hold our heads up high this election season.

And if we can get Congress to seize this moment, we can make real change. Here's some of what I'm lighting the fire of urgency for right now:

  • Canceling student debt — President Biden can make this happen with one stroke of a pen.
  • Taking federal action to bolster abortion access wherever we can and safeguard personal health and location data for people who seek abortion care.
  • Starting to root corruption out of Washington by banning members of Congress and their spouses from owning or trading individual stocks.
  • Cracking down on corporate price gouging, breaking up monopolies, and lowering costs for families.
  • Tackling climate change head on to protect our planet for future generations.
  • Getting freeloading corporations and freeloading billionaires to pay a fair share by passing a Corporate Profits Minimum Tax and a Billionaires Income Tax.
  • Bringing down the cost of prescription drugs, including capping the cost of insulin at $35 a month. There's a whole lot the president can get done with executive actions here — but I'm still pushing Congress to act, too.
  • Ensuring more workers are eligible for overtime pay — another thing the president can do all by himself.

That's just a start. In Washington, I'll keep banging every drum I can find to make sure we get stuff done by November. And I won't be doing it alone. I'll be fighting alongside a grassroots movement — this grassroots movement.

Together, we'll also keep working to elect more Democrats up and down the ballot. More Democrats who understand that this moment calls for bold changes. More Democrats who are ready to put power in the hands of working people. More Democrats who know how to fight and know how to win.

That way, after November, we'll know that we've improved the lives of tens of millions of Americans — and we'll know that we're on track to accomplish even more. Side by side, we can make Washington work for everyone, not just the rich and the powerful.

But first, we've got to hit all of our fundraising targets for 2022. And that includes our July goal. Can you make a donation right now to support our re-election campaign and elect more Warren Democrats across the country?

Thanks for being a part of this,

Elizabeth

A short note

Every single day it becomes more clear: We've got to make sure that more and more pro-democracy candidates are voted into office this November.
Warren Democrats

Danielle,

I'm going to keep this quick.

We're a bit behind our July fundraising goal, and the deadline to hit this important target is tomorrow.

Can you chip in $15 or whatever makes sense for you to power our re-election and elect other progressive candidates across the country and up and down the ballot in the midterms?

If you've saved payment info with ActBlue Express, your donation will process automatically:

Every single day it becomes more clear: We've got to make sure that more and more pro-democracy candidates are voted into office this November.

The fact of the matter is that Republicans have spent the past two years showing what Congress would look like if they take back control — dangerous conspiracy theories, nonstop obstruction and political games, reversed progress, and threatening basic, fundamental rights.

Our Democratic majorities are incredibly vulnerable. It'll only take one flipped seat for the Republicans to regain control of the Senate, and for Mitch McConnell to once again be the majority leader.

So I'm going to fight with everything I've got to keep Republicans out of power in these midterm elections — by working to not only hold onto but expand our Democratic majorities so we can abolish the filibuster and deliver more results.

If you're able to, please make a $15 donation before tomorrow's important deadline. Every donation is another sign that we're in this fight together — and the more small-dollar donations this team pitches in, the more resources we'll have to support progressive candidates in this year's midterms.

Thanks for being a part of this,

Elizabeth

A key Senate seat we can flip:

If you can, please split a donation between Mandela Barnes and Warren Democrats today.
Warren Democrats

Danielle, it's clear: We need a bigger Democratic majority in the U.S. Senate.

That means we've got to flip some Republican-held seats. And that's why I went to Wisconsin last weekend to campaign with my friend Mandela Barnes, who's our best chance to defeat Republican Senator Ron Johnson this November and flip this seat.

Mandela Barnes is campaigning with courage, character, conviction, and he'd make us proud in Washington by fighting to put our government on the side of working people. But his August 9 primary is less than two weeks away.

Can you split a donation of $15 or whatever makes sense right now between Mandela Barnes and our re-election campaign? Any amount would make a real difference as his campaign fights to get out the vote in these powerfully important final days.

If you've saved payment info with ActBlue Express, your donation will process automatically:

Here's what it would mean if we come together and elect Mandela Barnes:

If we hold onto the House and elect two more anti-filibuster, pro-abortion rights Democratic senators like Mandela Barnes, we could codify Roe v. Wade into federal law as early as January.

If we help Mandela Barnes defeat Republican Ron Johnson, we'll unseat one of the most dangerous right-wing extremists and biggest spreaders of disinformation — on everything from COVID to climate change.

And if we send Mandela Barnes to the Senate, we know he'll spend every day working for working families.

As lieutenant governor, he's been a true leader in the fight for social, racial, and economic justice. And he fights from the heart because he knows what it means to grow up in a hard-working, middle-class family.

His mom was a Milwaukee school teacher, and his dad worked the third shift at the General Motors plant. Solid, middle-class union jobs. The kind of jobs that could support a family. The kind of jobs that have slipped away as giant corporations have tilted the playing field in their favor.  I know he'll fight to bring back opportunities for families just like his.

Mandela Barnes doesn't work for the rich and powerful. He is not self-funded. That's why he needs this grassroots team to pitch in and help send him to Washington.

If you're able to, please split a contribution between Mandela Barnes and Warren Democrats to help flip this Senate seat, expand our razor-thin majority, and elect progressive Democrats up and down the ballot.

Thanks for being a part of this,

Elizabeth

We see your support

Just a few of the ways small-dollar donors took action:  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌

Hi Danielle,

This is what makes this small-dollar movement special: Every single contribution matters.

More than 2 million unique donors gave 11.8 million contributions to 16,059 campaigns and organizations this quarter. That means a community of millions of people like you stepped up to support candidates and organizations fighting for change.

These stats are more than just numbers. They represent people working at every level against attacks on our reproductive freedom, LGBTQIA2S+ rights, and so many other issues lobbed from Republicans in states around the country.

These are some of the Q2 numbers that show people power at work this quarter:

  • 2.8 million unique donors gave 11.8 million contributions via ActBlue.
  • Donors made more than double the number of contributions compared to Q2 2018.
  • Major national events spurred people to donate for the first time, with an influx of first-time donors in May and June.
  • This movement is getting activated at the state level, where some of our nation’s most pressing issues will be decided: 55% of donors this cycle gave their first contribution to a state or local campaign, committee, or organization.
  • The number of unique donors giving to nonprofits via our platform doubled, helping organizers drive change in their communities.

The big takeaways? We see the ways you support this movement. You’re one of thousands who stepped up amid several national events this spring. This movement continues to grow, and small-dollar donors continue to show up to face down attacks from Republicans and make change in communities around the country.

Sincerely,
The Team at ActBlue

P.S. Thank you for being a part of this movement! If you want more stats (including the dollar amount!), check out the full Q2 report on our blog.

Tough questions

Elizabeth has always had my back — and I'm not alone.
Warren Democrats

Hi Danielle, it's Katie Porter. You may know me for being a tough questioner during Congressional hearings. But believe it or not, there's been a time or two where I've been the one sitting in the hot seat and on the receiving end of the tough questions.

The first example that comes to mind is when my three kids ask me what's for dinner. The second example is when I was in my bankruptcy class during law school, with Professor Elizabeth Warren.

Since meeting Elizabeth in that class, she became a mentor for me — she inspired me to become a law professor as well, and also a consumer protection attorney.

When I decided to run for office for the first time in 2018, she was one of the first people I called for advice, and she believed in our long-shot race from the start. Our campaign fought hard and flipped a district that was traditionally a Republican stronghold, and I was able to join her in Washington to hold greedy corporations who cheat working people accountable.

Now, my whiteboard and I are up for re-election in a brand new district. I feel so grateful to have learned from Elizabeth, and I know that so many other candidates get to receive that same support through Warren Democrats. Danielle, will you please split a contribution of $15 or anything you can to support my re-election and other Warren Democrats across the country?

During my first few weeks in Congress, Elizabeth called me up to see how I was settling into my new position. I wasn't going to lie to her — it was difficult to gain footing and I didn't feel like I had found my voice.

I knew what I had come to Congress to do — to stand up to the Trump administration and fight on behalf of families like my own — I just needed to find a way channel it. I wanted to ask the questions that working people deserved answers to. So during my first couple of hearings with big CEOs, I did the math on my whiteboard to make it clear to consumers at home that these companies were knowingly misleading them.

And we started to get answers. We broke through the hypocrisies and contradictions. The CEO of Wells Fargo even resigned a couple weeks after I questioned him. After a hearing, I was standing in an airport and Elizabeth called me again. She told me, "You found your voice. Don't ever stop using it."

Elizabeth has always had my back — and I'm not alone. Through Warren Democrats, she's helped elect dozens more Democrats up and down the ballot since 2020, and she's already endorsed dozens more for 2022. She's in this fight by our side when the going gets tough.

Danielle, I'm facing my toughest election so far. If you're able to right now, please split a $15 donation between my re-election campaign and Warren Democrats so we can continue fighting corruption in Congress and giving working families the representation they deserve.

Danielle, I don't plan to stop using my voice anytime soon. Your support today makes that possible.

Thank you for reading,

Katie Porter
