Plenty of problems

We don't get what we don't fight for.

Danielle, I'll be blunt: We're up against a lot of problems. And so many of them are being inflicted on our nation by Washington Republicans: Mitch McConnell packed the Supreme Court with right-wing extremists who overturned Roe v. Wade. The House GOP is holding our entire economy hostage because they want to slash Social Security and Medicare. And congressional Republicans want to slap a nationwide 30 percent sales tax on everything from groceries and gasoline to rent and car payments — all so they can give millionaires and billionaires more handouts. Yeah, there's a lot of trouble in our nation. There are threats to our safety, to our economic security, to our health, and to our very democracy. And when there's this much trouble, we can whimper. We can whine. Or we can fight back. Me? I'm fighting back. That includes defeating Republicans and electing Democrats up and down the ticket. There’s an announcement on my whiteboard

I'm running for the Senate because Californians deserve a warrior fighting for them in Washington.

Danielle, You may know me as the woman who brings a whiteboard to congressional hearings to break down the math behind Wall Street's corruption and Big Oil's greed. But today, my whiteboard has an exciting update… Danielle, I don't look, live, or talk like most members of Congress. Instead of attending swanky fundraisers with corporate lobbyists, I'm one of a dozen members of the House who rejects all contributions from corporate PACs and federal lobbyists. I'm a single mom of three school-aged kids who drives a minivan, and I've spent my career taking on special interests and delivering for working people. And I'm running for the Senate because Californians deserve a warrior fighting for them in Washington. California has a unique system where the top two vote-getters in the statewide primary (regardless of party) advance to the general. So while there are plenty of unknowns in this race, we do know we need to build a robust campaign that reaches Californians from all walks of life. I want our campaign to show people how corporate CEOs and their friends in government are rigging the rules against working people, and then explain to voters how we're going to fix it. As my friend, mentor, and former law professor Elizabeth Warren taught me: nobody gets elected alone.
