A story that I want you to know

I hope you'll read Anastasia's story and join me in keeping up the fight to make the world a little bit better each day.

Danielle, our Team Warren family has lost a bright light — Anastasia Golovashkina passed away this week after a battle with cancer.

Anastasia served as the social media director for our presidential campaign starting in June of 2019. She was responsible for the many pieces that most likely made you laugh, learn something about policies like the two-cent wealth tax, or feel inspired and seen by the campaign we were building.

Just two weeks after beginning on the job, she received her glioblastoma diagnosis. Even with this devastating news, she still chose to bring her energy, her heart, and her thoughtfulness to our campaign, and she fought hard for what she believed in in order to make the world better for everyone.

She was a kind and brilliant member of our team — and I am deeply, deeply heartbroken.

Anastasia was great at so many things. One exceptional talent she had was telling stories — including her own. I hope you'll read her story and learn about her courage, grace, and fighting spirit as she faced glioblastoma and navigated the American healthcare system in the process (and if you can't read it right now, please consider bookmarking it for later).

The COVID Vaccine Made History. Let's Channel That Energy Into Curing Cancers Like Mine. I was diagnosed with the same aggressive cancer that killed Beau Biden. With this new President, it's time for the next 'Operation Warp Speed'—to push ahead on cancer research that's stalled out.

Campaigns — working in politics — are tough, Danielle. It's the people you meet along the way, the people like Anastasia, who make this all worth it. She lived her values and led with kindness and a fierce optimism to see the world as it should be.

I hope you'll read her story and join me in committing to keep up the fight to make the world a little bit better each day — just as Anastasia did. Whether that's through speaking out on the injustices of the world (like our healthcare system), putting in the work to make others feel seen, or simply by offering a friend a hug, sending them a funny joke, or giving them a call to catch up.

Thanks for reading,

Elizabeth
