Danielle, you're an extremely important member of this team, so we want to touch base with you about where we're at as a grassroots movement.
In this email, we're going to be transparent about the funds that Elizabeth needs this team to raise this month to remain competitive in this race. A third of delegates don't get decided until Super Tuesday — and what we do from now until then will determine our performance.
We've set an ambitious goal of raising $7 million before the Nevada caucuses next week. That's what it's going to take to fund two important things ahead of Super Tuesday: critical organizing on the ground and getting our message out on TV, on the radio, and online.
Now, this goal is higher than we've ever set before, and will set us up for our biggest month of fundraising yet. But Elizabeth believes in this grassroots movement to her core, and we know we can meet the moment.
If this were a traditional campaign, Elizabeth would be spending every day between now and our goal deadline flying from big city to big city holding fancy fundraisers with wealthy donors and making her case to fill our campaign coffers.
But that's not the campaign she's running. This campaign is 100% grassroots-funded — and our whole organization runs on small-dollar donations. No selling time to wealthy donors in wine caves and penthouses — just regular people like us chipping in when we can.
So if you want to see Elizabeth Warren remain competitive in this race, she needs your help right now, Danielle. This is an ambitious goal, and we can only hit it if this grassroots team steps up and meets the challenge. Support from grassroots donors like you is the only reason we've grown this far, and we're going to need your help again to hit this critical goal and continue our fight.
