Our campaign is facing a powerfully important test this week.
We set a goal of raising $7 million in grassroots donations by midnight on Friday, and we've made great progress so far. But there's still a ways to go, and whether or not we finish strong and reach this goal will make a real difference in the types of investments we can make to remain competitive in this primary.
But even though the pressure is on, Danielle, there's only one way I'm raising money on this campaign, and it's from grassroots contributions. We're building a movement to fight for working people and we're making sure we answer only to working people — not wealthy and well-connected campaign donors.
That's how we're going to build a movement that's strong enough to unite the country, beat Donald Trump, and make real change. But this only works if everyone who is able pitches in. So with our deadline quickly approaching, I'm asking:
Danielle, we know the big problems we're up against in this election. And we know that we need big, structural change to solve those problems.
That's what I'm going to be focusing on from the debate stage tonight.
