Danielle —
We always say that if Elizabeth could meet every voter and talk with them one-on-one, she'd win this race in a landslide. We also know that isn't possible (although with visits to 30 states, Puerto Rico, and D.C. and over 100,000 one-on-one conversations with voters, Elizabeth is getting as close as she can).
That's why campaigns rely on a combination of press and advertising to reach voters we can't talk to individually. But the last few weeks have made it clear: we can't count on the media to cover our campaign fairly.
After major news networks refused to give Elizabeth's speeches in Iowa or New Hampshire the airtime they deserved (showing more of the speeches from the candidates she beat!), we're relying on a surge of grassroots contributions to increase our advertising budget and get Elizabeth's message out.
Here's what we know, Danielle: When voters hear about Elizabeth's vision for America, they get in the fight. That's why we've already invested in organizing and advertising efforts across the country.
But with 14 states voting on Super Tuesday alone, we need to ramp up our efforts if we are going to remain competitive — especially with the corporate media refusing to cover our movement.
This is a 100% grassroots campaign. We're only relying on our strongest supporters like you to hit this goal.
