Danielle,
Well, no wonder Donald Trump fought so hard to keep his tax returns a secret.
They paint an ugly picture of a crooked businessman. A cheater whose rickety finances are held together by scotch tape and corruption. A president who is a walking, talking conflict of interest. A self-proclaimed billionaire who paid just $750 in federal income taxes in 2016 and 2017.
He knows better than anyone that there's one set of rules for the wealthy and giant corporations and another for hardworking Americans — and instead of using his power to fix it, he's taken advantage of it at every turn.
But Danielle his time is just about up. This November, we are going to defeat him, elect Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, and put Democrats into power across the country.
Let's show Donald Trump and his Republican enablers that we are building the movement that will take power out of their hands.
Because this is about more than one man's personal tax scams.
Donald Trump has also taken advantage of a corrupt system that's built for people like him to do what he did.
A system that kicks dirt in the faces of teachers, nurses, janitors, farmworkers — people who do more in a day to build up our country than Donald Trump has in a lifetime. People who work hard and pay it forward so the next kid can have a shot, too.
But this system doesn't exist because of some inevitable, natural force, like gravity. It only exists because billionaires and giant corporations have been able to write the rules in Washington. And that's not a given. As long as we win big this November, we'll have the chance to rewrite those rules — and make them work for everyone.
But to win up and down the ballot, we need to throw ourselves into the fight and expand our grassroots organizing.
And that takes real resources.
Warren Democrats in powerfully important races across the country are counting on grassroots donors to power them to victory.
