Week One in Review
It seems as though we all made it through week one fairly unscathed. Rosabelle should only have a few repressed memories to share with her therapist. This was a big week...she learned to eat, poo and love and now she is excelling at all three. I feel extremely lucky that I have been feeling so good so that I have been able to enjoy her first week.
It is amazing how much she has grown in just a few days. Her cheeks have filled out and her chins have doubled. We have also discovered the miracle of lap pads. Rosabelle has a habit of peeing as soon as we take off her diaper so the lap pads have saved us from washing the changing pad cover 5 times a day.
Grandma has been great, it'll be so sad when we have to have her arrested for the baby theft she's been threatening. Everyone will miss her, even the cats. Mom is allergic so she has been keeping her bedroom door closed so they can't get in. Well, she let down her guard late last night and Lilly slipped into her room. Around 4 am we all heard the cats making a racket and couldn't figure out what they were doing. In my sleep deprived haze I feared they were jumping into the crib. Danny came out into the hall and saw a paw coming out from under the door. Lilly had gotten locked inside and was swatting the door spring to signal her entrapment and Clementine was one the other side trying to figure out how to bust her loose. Mom had no idea till morning when we told that Lilly had gotten trapped, she had thought they were trying to break in and not out so she has hiding under her covers fearful of attack.
This was only one of the comedy of errors last night. Danny wanted to let me get to sleep after the midnight feeding so I went back to bed. I kept hearing her cry, but figured I'd let her dad handle it. So I kept drifting in and out of sleep and then our alarm went off at 1 am, Danny had set it a few nights earlier afraid that we wouldn't wake up and miss a feeding (yeah right). So he ran into the room to turn it off to and stubbed his toe on the hamper and yelled, which scared the baby and she started crying again. I gave it a few minutes and then went to see what was going on and Danny was in the nursery with the lights on and the lap top. I asked him what he was doing and he said he was just putting the pacifier back in her mouth every few minutes. I relieved him of his duties, rocked her for a few minutes and then we all went back to sleep until the above mentioned cat shenanigans.
All in all I think that this has been the most amazing week of my life. We have fallen so deeply in love with this little girl and are excited to see what happens next.

And Baby makes 3
The first few days with Rosabelle have definitely been an adventure. At first we were nervous because she hadn't pooped yet, but she has now more than made up for that. Danny got a little more than he bargained for yesterday when changing her...he had barely gotten the diaper on her when she mustard bombed him. It was of those up the back all over the onesie kinda deals and his reaction was priceless. I told him he was lucky he got the diaper on in time.
We were getting a little cocky thinking we had started to get into a groove with the whole night time feeding cycle, so Rosabelle put the kibosh on that last night. It was the classic 3 am inconsolable baby scenario. Luckily Grandma was up for the challenge and we made it through our first rough night.
Other than that she has really been a dream. She is so sweet and already has Dad wrapped around her finger. The cats have been great. They are both very curious about this pink blob that has the people so fascinated but if she is crying they will start meowing at you like "are you gonna help her?"
We are such huge new parent dorks...all we do is stare at her and marvel that we made this perfect little thing. But she is awesome and we are so happy to welcome her into our little family.

Sweet Rosabelle
She made it! Rosabelle Jo Dunlap has arrived! We are so happy she's here, and just in time, too. I would not be happy being 9 plus months pregnant in the middle of this heat wave. The labor and delivery were kinda like my pregnancy...after all the horror stories, not nearly as bad as I thought it would be! I give the epidural two snaps ups. Big shout out to all the nurses at Glendale Adventist! Everyone here has been amazing.
Rosabelle (aka nine letters) is just a little angel. She is a gorgeous girl and I can't wait to get here home and put her in her cute outfits. The shirts they have here are like prison garb.
It's been great having mom and dad here. Although they are not digging the 100 degree weather. I'm sure we'll appreciate mom being here even more once we get this little chica home.Danny has been amazing. This little Rosie Jo is lucky to have such a good daddy. We'll be sure to take lots of pictures and do lots of posts!

At long last....
We are going to the hospital tomorrow to get induced! Hopefully, by the end of the day we'll have a baby for our trouble. Wish us luck. Dad flies in tomorrow, too, which is perfect so Mom won't have to stay at our house alone with our ferocious kitty cats. We'll post some pics as soon as we can.
Here are a couple of pictures from the beach the other day and of Danny's first father's day. He got a book from Mom and a dude diaper bag and a crepe maker from me. We are practically French now we have eaten so many crepes.
Last days being prego!

Only in LA
Only in LA will you have a celebrity sighting at a circumcision. The venerable Quincy Jones was at the bris we went to today. The bris was pretty interesting, the grandmothers seemed more traumatized than the baby...although he was fairly traumatized. Just another reason we are happy to be having a girl. It doesn't seem right somehow to be just born and already getting parts cut off. But it was nice to go to the beach. I have a couple of pics, but can't find the cord to the camera right now. It's been nice having mom here, but we are all starting to get impatient for this baby to arrive. I go see the doctor tomorrow so hopefully we'll have some news.
Everybody send out their baby vibes and maybe we'll have this kid tonight!

The trouble with cats
I haven't done a cat post in a while and I'm sure all you avid readers have been thinking, how are Lilly & Clem doing? Well, since the arrival of Baby Dunlap is imminent and I'm sure that when she arrives the cats will become gatos non grata for a while I figured I do a post for my cat friends. Here they are during their night time snuggling ritual.
On Friday I stopped by Petco to pick up some cat food. We fed them the fresh bag Saturday morning and spent the rest of the day cleaning up cat barf. There has been way too much puking in this house lately between Danny getting sick last week and 2 sick kitties, although better them than me. I was afraid the we had gotten some tainted Chinese cat food, but Petco seemed unconcerned and just gave us a new bag.
I'm interested to see how the cats are gonna adjust to the new human. Lilly is definitely the jealous type and is highly suspicious of what is going on in the nursery. Clem will probably just be happy that we stop trying to look at her all the time. Here she is taking a nap on Danny's guitar case.
Mom is coming on Thursday and we are hoping she is bringing the stork with her! It's been fun and all being pregnant, but I think I've had my fill.

To blog or not to blog?
The Thompson's were nice enough to make an LA stop on their big Cali vacation and it was great to see them. It sounded like they are having an awesome vacation. Don't you wish you could see pictures of Parker at the Zoo or Dylan with Buzz Lightyear, Sam at Sea World? Sorry, but you can't cuz Dianna has yet to join our society of bloggers. Her lame excuse? That she can't think of a good name. So to help her out I think everyone should leave a suggestion in the comments section. Then she will have no excuse. Just a few ideas to kick things off:

Sorry these pictures look weird. They ended up soft focus somehow. Possible user error.
