Republicans just confirmed Amy Coney-Barrett. Here's what you can do to fight back.

We lost this one, and it hurts. But we still have time to win back the Senate -- and we have to give this fight everything we've got.

Let's be clear about what just happened, Danielle:

Donald Trump, Mitch McConnell, and their Republican buddies have shoved aside the wishes of the American people in order to steal another Supreme Court seat.

They stole another Supreme Court seat just eight days before the end of the election, after tens of millions of Americans had already cast their ballots, and just 15 days before the Supreme Court will hear a case that could overturn the Affordable Care Act.

They broke every rule in the book, even the ones they'd made up.

Hundreds of thousands of Americans are dead, and millions are waiting for the federal government to finally show up and fight this pandemic, but Republican senators said: Sorry, no time. Senate Republicans had better things to do than pass a relief package — things like steal a Supreme Court seat.

We lost this one, and it hurts. But we still have time to win back the Senate — and we have to give this fight everything we've got.

Today, I'm asking if you can donate directly to the campaigns of Democrats running to flip GOP Senate seats right now. Every contribution will make a real difference to help get our candidates over the finish line in the last eight days of this election season.

When we fight side by side, we have power — and that is exactly what Republicans are scared of.

The Republican Party is scared they can't win through the democratic process. Scared that they can't win by playing by the rules. That they can't win when the American people decide the outcome. That they can't win when elections matter.

Here's the ugly truth: confirming Amy Coney Barrett is their path to advance an extremist agenda, long after the country is fed up and disgusted with their failures. In the middle of an election, in the depths of a pandemic, their extremist agenda is all that matters, and that's why they were so desperate to ram her nomination through the Senate.

A vote for Barrett was a vote to strip health care coverage from millions of people. To turn back the clock on reproductive freedom. To endanger Dreamers and immigrants. To let climate change rampage unchecked. To imperil efforts to address systemic racism. To place workers' rights, voting rights, LGBTQ+ rights, and gun violence prevention at risk.

Let's be very clear: now that Trump and Republicans have succeeded in ramming this nomination through, the American people will expect us to use every tool we have to undo the damage and restore the Court's integrity.

Democrats fought tooth and nail, but the Republicans control the Senate — for now. The reason the Republicans were willing to break every rule to jam through an illegitimate nomination eight days before the election is that they have realized a truth that shakes them down to their core: the American people are not on their side.

People all over this country are fighting to reclaim our democracy. They are registering to vote — and they are voting. They are voting like never before. They are speaking out and telling their stories. They are fighting for a democracy that works for all of us, not just for the privileged few. And they will continue to fight until they've taken our democracy back from those who have worked around the clock to undermine it.

Help keep up the fight by making a direct donation, if you can, to the campaigns of Democratic challengers running to flip Republican-held Senate seats in the next eight days. Let's take back the Senate and make our government work for everyone.

Thanks for being a part of this,

Elizabeth
