| | Let's be clear about what's going on in Washington right now, Danielle: a handful of MAGA Republican extremists in the U.S. House are hellbent on imposing pain on the American people — even if it means shutting down the government or slashing vital programs — to improve Donald Trump's chances of winning in 2024. They're insisting upon drastic cuts to education, housing, nutrition assistance, heating assistance (just in time for winter), and more. And if they succeed in shutting down the government, babies would get kicked out of Head Start, moms and infants would have their nutrition assistance jeopardized, and service members would go without paychecks — all so a few Republican extremists can score political points. It's outrageous. This hostage-taking has got to stop, and I'll keep fighting by your side to make sure our government works for families.
