, Danielle, some outstanding news came out of the Sunflower State last night. An amendment was on the ballot with the intention to remove the right to an abortion from the Kansas state constittution — clearing the way for extreme abortion bans. The ultimate question voters were answering was: "Do you want the right to an abortion to be removed from the state constitution?" Kansans turned out and sent a strong message: No. No. NO. I'm so grateful for every organizer, voter, and supporter who helped stop this dangerous ballot measure in its tracks. And I'm so grateful for everyone on this team who made a donation when we put out a call to support Kansans for Constitutional Freedom — the outstanding organization at the center of this fight — after the Supreme Court decision. It mattered. You all helped make the difference. This was the first time abortion rights were on the ballot at the state level since Roe v. Wade was overturned — and last night showed that voters simply do not want abortion bans. And when we organize and fight for abortion protections at the state level, we can win. The right-wing extremists who plotted to overturn Roe had no idea of the level of anger — and determination — they'd unleash. Our momentum is only growing stronger Danielle, and we have more chances ahead to mobilize voters, make our voices heard, and fight back against these extreme anti-abortion efforts. One important opportunity that we have ahead of us: If we can expand our Democratic majority in the Senate by just two seats, and if we hold onto the House, we will be able to protect the right to an abortion nationwide through federal law. In Wisconsin and Pennsylvania — two states that Joe Biden and Kamala Harris won in 2020 — Mandela Barnes and John Fetterman are running strong campaigns to flip Republican-held Senate seats. They both support ending the filibuster to pass legislation that would ensure abortion rights nationwide. Flipping these two seats is in our reach, Danielle, and that's well worth fighting for today. So if you're able, can you split a donation of $15 or whatever makes sense between Mandela Barnes, John Fetterman, and Warren Democrats right now to strengthen our mobilization efforts for protecting abortion rights across the country? Every contribution adds up to build a groundswell of grassroots support and win this fight. If you've saved payment info with ActBlue Express, your donation will process automatically: | The Supreme Court doesn't get the last word in a democracy. We the people are fighting back. And it's working, Danielle. Thanks for being a part of this, Elizabeth |
