Danielle, For the past year or so, Republicans have been testing out a new song and dance: They want the American people to see the GOP as the party that's out to support families and look after children. Give me a break. These are the same right-wing extremists who want to force disproportionately low-income women and women of color to give birth — by shredding abortion rights and restricting access to contraceptive care. But these Republicans won't support quality, affordable child care after the child is born. Or paid family leave. Or extending the child tax credit, which reduced child poverty by about 30 percent in less than one year. Or raising the minimum wage — or cracking down on corporate price gouging — to help families make ends meet. I could go on. And on. And on. And on…about how Republicans don't do anything to actually support families. If you've had enough of the GOP's double act — if you know that we need to beat Republicans up and down the ballot in 2022 and elect more tough Democrats who know how to fight and win — then chip in $15 today if you can. Your donation will support our re-election campaign and help Warren Democrats win in tight races across the country. More parents are forced to have hushed conversations at the kitchen table after they've put their kids to bed — conversations about how on earth they're going to make rent, pay the mortgage, or cover medical bills. More parents — especially moms — are forced to give up their careers because child care costs more than their salary. More parents are forced to make impossible choices between going to work that day so they can buy groceries or staying home so they can take care of a sick child. More kids are forced to go to under-funded public schools, where some get cruelly punished for having little to no funds in their lunch accounts. More teachers are forced to deal with red tape that stops them from teaching honest lessons about Black history, or from trying to create safe, welcoming classroom environments for LGBTQ+ students. More working people and more retirees are forced to struggle to make ends meet and afford life-saving prescription drugs. All while more billionaires and giant corporations are getting richer. They're empowered to write their own ticket at tax time — skipping out on the bill while teachers, nurses, and firefighters pay their taxes on time and in full every year to fund schools, hospitals, and highways. I'm not willing to accept any of that. So I'm going to do everything I can to keep Republicans out of power in these midterm elections. Our Democratic majorities in Congress are razor-thin, and we also need to fight back — hard — in state and local races that the GOP has been focusing on for decades. So I've already endorsed dozens of champions for working people up and down the ballot for 2022. And I'm asking you to stay in this fight all the way. Danielle, if you're able to, please pitch in $15 or whatever makes sense today to support Warren Democrats, defeat extreme right-wing Republicans, and power our grassroots movement. Thanks for being a part of this, Elizabeth |
