I'll keep up the fight in the Senate, but I'm counting on you to stay in the fight, too.
Real change doesn't just happen because of decisions made in Washington. It happens because people all across the country get into the fight
Danielle,
In November's election, Democrats won a real mandate for bold action. Now, we need to deliver.
We need to make progress on issues that make a tangible difference in people's lives — because that's how we'll show everyone who turned out to vote that there is a good reason for voting. That when you make your voice heard, you get a government that works for you.
I'm going to keep pushing for real, immediate relief to families struggling through this pandemic — and for policies that will level the playing field in the long term. And I'm going to keep working on ways the Biden-Harris administration can get big things done, even without Congress.
That includes my plan for using executive action to boost our economy by canceling billions of dollars of student loan debt, raising the minimum wage for federal contractors to $15 an hour, and publicly manufacturing life-saving medications — like insulin and EpiPens — and making them available at lower costs.
If we respond to the crises we face with the bold, systemic change we need, we can make our country work for everyone, not just a thin slice at the top.
But real change doesn't just happen because of decisions made in Washington. It happens because people all across the country get into the fight — pushing from the outside while leaders work on the inside.
I'll keep up the fight in the Senate, but I'm counting on you to stay in the fight, too.
