| Yesterday 2429 survivors of gender-based violence applied to my wife's organization, FreeFrom, for cash assistance. Today FreeFrom needs your help to make sure everyone gets support.
On Thursday November 19th, FreeFrom released their second round of Safety Fund Grants for survivors of gender-based violence who need cash to make ends meet and stay safe right now. Their priority in this round is to support survivors who are Black, Latinx, Native/Indigenous, Queer and/or Trans as our data shows that they are at greater risk physically and financially during COVID-19.
In just 12 hours, they received over 2429 requests for support and had to close the application. This speaks to how much survivors are impacted by COVID-19 and all the events of this year, in addition to the financial insecurity and harm they were already facing.
They only have the funds to support 1800 survivors. Can you donate any amount to help them close the gap?
