Danielle,
This November, if Democrats play our cards right (and persist), we won't just take back control of the U.S. Senate from Mitch McConnell.
We'll take Mitch McConnell's Senate seat, too.
Today, I'm proud to endorse Charles Booker for Senate in Kentucky. He's a state representative who fights for working people and he's the right Democrat to beat Mitch McConnell.
I'm ready to fight alongside Charles Booker in the United States Senate to root out corruption, build a better future for all our kids, dismantle systemic racism, and make big, structural change for working people.
But first, he has to get through Tuesday's primary election. He has the momentum right now, but he's up against an extremely well-funded opponent.
Tuesday's primary could be decided by just a few thousand votes — so the outreach that Charles Booker's campaign can run in the next few days will make all the difference.
As a lifelong Kentuckian, Charles Booker has seen how Mitch McConnell and Washington work great for the billionaires and giant corporations, but not so much for the people of Kentucky.
Kentucky families deserve a senator who will listen and get things done, and that's exactly what Charles Booker has done his entire career at every level of government.
He fights from the heart because he knows what's at stake for working people in the choices that our leaders make. He grew up in one of Kentucky's lowest-income ZIP codes. Sometimes, he went hungry. Sometimes, he had to ration his insulin.
Now, he's fighting for a country where everyone, not just the wealthy and well-connected, has a chance to thrive — with Medicare for All, a Green New Deal, and big, structural change across the board.
As a state legislator, he's fought for gun violence prevention, criminal justice reform, voting rights, and more. He's helped get results for working people, including a bipartisan bill expanding emergency access to insulin.
And in the past few weeks, he's joined protestors in Louisville on the front lines of the fight to dismantle systemic racism and root out white supremacy.
He won't just nibble around the edges of the problems we face. He'll make real change. And he'll make us proud every day that he serves in the Senate.
But first, we need to do everything we can to help him win Tuesday's primary.
It's crunch time. The amount of money that Charles raises today will help decide how much he can invest in getting out the vote — and we can't leave any stone unturned.
