Happy Thanksgiving-eve, Danielle.

We hope that wherever you are for the holiday, the food is good, the company is warm, and you're enjoying cherished traditions.

Thanksgiving can mean time with people you don't see very often — and sometimes that makes for a tough political conversation. With the critical 2024 elections coming up, we wanted to share a few festive ways to navigate those conversations:

  • 1% of the family shouldn't get 99% of the pie. We're done with an economy that only works for a thinner and thinner slice at the top.
  • Everyone should do their fair share — bring a dish, set the table, clean up, or for any billionaires at your table, pay their fair share in taxes.
  • While watching some football, talk about the importance of a level playing field for everyone playing the game. It wouldn't be fair if one team was paying off the refs, and corporate interests shouldn't pay off politicians, either.
  • While the kids convene at the kids table this year, take the chance to remind everyone how great universal child care would be! It's like having an affordable and accessible designated kids table all the time.
  • If your family game of charades, Scrabble, or backyard football has consequences for people who break the rules, you're more ethical than the Supreme Court.
  • Taking a much-needed nap after a Thanksgiving meal is sort of like taking paid family leave. Everyone deserves it!
  • All those Thanksgiving meal ingredients could have cost less at the grocery store if greedy corporations weren't taking advantage of inflation and shutting down competition so they can jack up their prices even higher.
  • Whether or not you're running a traditional Turkey Trot this year, we can all be grateful that the government is running — despite MAGA House Republicans attempting to shut it down these past few months.
  • And, it's the perfect time to talk about rooting out Washington corruption over some root vegetables.

Danielle, we're thankful to have you on this team today and every day. If you find yourself wishing on your wishbone for policies like universal child care, taxing the rich, and ending Washington corruption, you can do more than wish! If you're hungry for big, structural change, donate today to help make these wishes come true.

Wishing you and your family a happy Thanksgiving,

Team Warren
