We must add four or more seats to the Supreme Court. Here’s why:

If we don't take action to rebalance the Supreme Court and restore its integrity, this broken institution will keep attacking basic constitutional rights, undermining the promise of equal justice under law, and threatening the foundations of our democracy.

Danielle,

From the filibuster to the Electoral College, the Republican party uses every tool they can to defy the will of the people — to make sure they can control Congress and the White House even when they get fewer votes.

And now they've hijacked the Supreme Court, too.

Mitch McConnell stole two seats to install a super-majority of far-right justices so they can ram through an unpopular, extreme agenda. Roe v. Wade is hanging by a thread, and that's just the tip of the iceberg.

If we don't take action to rebalance the Supreme Court and restore its integrity, this broken institution will keep attacking basic constitutional rights, undermining the promise of equal justice under law, and threatening the foundations of our democracy.

So today, I'm announcing my support for a plan to add at least four seats to the Supreme Court. The Constitution gives Congress the authority to do this, it's already happened seven times before, and for the sake of our democracy, we must act now.

Add your name if you agree, Danielle: It's time to expand the Supreme Court.

If we don't take action, the Supreme Court will keep on leaning into extremism and partisanship — with additional radical right-wing opinions on abortion, voting, dark money, unions, corporate power, and more.

In the next year alone, the Supreme Court is considering whether to nullify the right to an abortion, whether to bar states and cities from regulating guns on our streets, and whether to eviscerate the federal government's abilities to fight climate change.

The American people see what's going on here — the Supreme Court has hit record lows in the eyes of the public. Rebalancing the Court is a necessary step to restore its credibility as an independent institution, one that works for the American people and not just for the wealthy and the powerful.

Engraved on the entrance of the Supreme Court is a simple phrase: "equal justice under law." Americans deserve a Court committed to that fundamental idea. One that values the settled constitutional rights of every American. One that protects democracy, instead of undermining it. One that gives working parents and millionaire executives the same fair shake. This extremist Court has shown that it is not interested in advancing the equal administration of justice. It's time to rebalance the Supreme Court to create one that is.

Expansion is the only way to rebalance the Court after Republicans stole two seats and undermined its legitimacy. I'm supporting legislation by my friend Senator Markey that will expand the Court by 4 seats, restore its integrity, and ensure equal justice for all.

I'll keep up the fight, but I can't do it alone. Add your name to say you're in this fight to expand the Supreme Court by four or more seats and help defend our democracy.

Thanks for being a part of this,

Elizabeth
