Last year, Elizabeth endorsed over 100 Warren Democrats running up and down the ballot. And this community raised over $2 million dollars directly for their campaigns, made calls, sent text messages, and helped get their supporters to the polls or to the ballot drop boxes.
And the result? Huge wins up and down the ballot, including powering Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock to victory in January, securing the Senate, and making it possible to pass real relief for working families struggling in the wake of the economic and health crisis.
This year, we have important state and local elections coming up across the country, and Warren Democrats we just helped elect are starting to raise money and organize supporters for their re-election.
If this year has proved anything, it's that Mitch McConnell and the Republicans are still happy to try to block any progress that Joe Biden pushes and to water down policies that will actually make a difference.
We cannot waste any time in helping Warren Democrats prepare for Trump-McConnell Republicans to challenge them. And we cannot afford to lose their seats, especially when we have so many big challenges and important policies coming up.
So today, we're setting an ambitious fundraising goal to get this work started. Republicans are already posting huge fundraising hauls, breaking records in the first part of the year. And it's time that we fight back.
