| Did you watch any live TV on Monday night, Danielle? Maybe either of the playoff games? (Here's hoping that next year is the Pats' year.) Maybe the Emmys? (The public school teacher in me was rooting for Abbott Elementary!) Or maybe you tuned in to the live results from the Iowa caucuses. If you decided to preserve your peace of mind by tuning out that third option, I can't blame you. They were less suspenseful than the Emmys or playoff football. Donald Trump ran away with a big win early on, continuing his glide path to the Republican nomination for president. Trump's victory in Iowa is another reminder that we must directly face the reality of what we're up against this year, and what's on the line. If Republicans gain enough power, they'll pass a nationwide abortion ban — overriding any and all state-level protections, like what we've got in Massachusetts. Trump has already promised to try to repeal the Affordable Care Act again, which would rip health coverage away from millions of Americans. And the very survival of our democracy is at stake if our next president is an election denier charged with 91 criminal offenses who's said he'd be a dictator on day one. The 2024 elections are critically important to our freedoms as a people and the future of our country for our children and grandchildren. I'm running for re-election to keep fighting for Massachusetts families and help make sure Democrats hold our majority in the U.S. Senate. Because if we keep the Senate, keep the White House, and flip the GOP's slim-as-can-be House majority, we can make real progress on the policies this team is fighting for, from ensuring universal child care to guaranteeing the right to an abortion to getting the rich and powerful to pay a fair share. Can you make a donation of $100 or any amount to fuel our campaign and fight for the big, structural change we need as a nation? | If you've saved payment info with ActBlue Express, your donation will process automatically: | The contrast will be clear this year — as long as we get out and make the case. As president, Donald Trump stacked the Supreme Court to overturn Roe v. Wade, handed massive tax breaks to billionaires and giant corporations, and stoked an insurrection. As president, Joe Biden has capped the cost of insulin for millions of Americans at $35, passed a historic investment in the fight against climate change (paid for in part by my minimum corporate profits tax), cracked down on wealthy tax cheats, cut junk fees — the list goes on. In fact, his administration JUST announced a plan to slash overdraft fees to as little as $3, which can save consumers billions of dollars a year — the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau is getting ready to make it happen! Democrats have a real record to run on. And I'm running for re-election because there's a whole lot more we need to do. We need to tackle the housing affordability crisis. Make sure all working parents can get quality, affordable child care. Pass a wealth tax to fund opportunity for all of our kids. Enshrine reproductive freedom into federal law and overturn the cruel abortion bans Republicans have enacted at the state level. Root corruption out of Washington. I'm in this fight all the way — and I'm grateful you've fought by my side, Danielle. If you're able to keep up the fight by making a financial contribution at this time, it would go a long way right now — this is the part of campaign season where potential GOP opponents are sizing us up to decide whether to get in the race. But I never expect you to donate to every email, and I'm always honored to have you on the team. When we link arms, we make each other stronger. Truly. Thanks for being a part of this, Elizabeth | | |
