This is what I've dedicated my career to.

I am going to continue to use my voice to advocate for big, structural changes that help working people. I need to know if you're by my side in this fight.
Warren for Senate

Danielle,

I never in a zillion years thought I'd be a U.S. senator. But my life has had a lot of twists and turns, just like a lot of people's.

I grew up on the ragged edge of the middle class. After my daddy's heart attack, my family came within an inch from losing our house, but my mother got a minimum wage job at Sears that saved our family.

I dropped out of college at 19 to get married, but got a second chance at a public college that cost $50 a semester and got to live my dream of becoming a public school teacher. I then dedicated my career to studying why families go broke and fighting to rebuild the middle class.

A photo of Elizabeth Warren writing at a desk

After Wall Street crashed our economy in 2008, I fought to create the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau to protect people from getting scammed by big banks and corporations. The CFPB has already returned more than $16 billion to American consumers who've been cheated.

After Senate Republicans vowed to block my nomination to serve as the CFPB's first director, I went back home to Massachusetts and ran against one of them — and I beat him. I ran to tax greedy corporations, to invest in jobs and our infrastructure, and to rein in student loan companies. And guess what? We got it all done.

But the fight to make our government work for everyone — not just the wealthy and well-connected — isn't over. So I'm running for re-election to keep up the fight. Our campaign has a critical fundraising goal we need to hit by tonight, so if you're able, can you make a contribution of $100 or anything you can to help make sure I can keep fighting for working families in the Senate?

DONATE NOW

Throughout my time in Washington, I've learned that when you start talking about policies that help working people instead of wealthy people or big corporations, plenty of critics will be quick to tell you what you can't do and what's not possible.

It's like clockwork.

Take student loan cancellation for example. Cynics said we could never put our government on the side of working-class and middle-class people who fought to get an education and are getting crushed by debt. But we got organized, we got in the fight, and we got this policy to the president's desk.

And despite the Supreme Court substituting politics for the rule of law and striking down his plan, we're still persisting and getting student debt canceled. Just this week, the Biden administration announced over $116 billion in student loan forgiveness for 3.4 million borrowers across a variety of new initiatives — with more to come.

I'm staying in the fight with President Biden to get student debt canceled for more borrowers — and to reform our higher education system.

See, this is a case where we see how the rules work differently for different groups of people: We have a system where millions of struggling student loan borrowers have been in limbo regarding the status of their debt, but that same system worked overnight to ensure that billion-dollar crypto firms wouldn't lose a dime in deposits during the recent bank failures.

The difference between these two scenarios? The willingness to fight for them.

I'm in this fight all the way — and I am going to continue to use my voice to advocate for big, structural changes that help working people. I need you by my side in this fight.

A contribution of $100 or anything you can will help hit our important August fundraising goal and show the naysayers that our plans — like taxing the rich, reining in big banks, and making child care affordable — have strong support. Will you please pitch in today to support my re-election and make these plans possible?

Thanks for being a part of this,

This was no accident, Danielle

To help build a future that works for working people, can you grow our campaign with a donation today?
Warren for Senate

Danielle,

My life's work has been around one central question: What's happening to hardworking people in America?

What's happening to hollow out America's middle class? Why has the road to economic security gotten so rocky and steep — and even rockier and steeper for people of color?

Well, here's the answer: It wasn't an accident. It was because a series of decisions changed who Washington actually works for. I saw a government that only worked great for those with money and power — for those who could hire armies of lobbyists and lawyers. Corruption, pure and simple. So I got in the fight.

I'm fighting for a government that works for families trying to make it payday to payday without getting ripped off — not just giant financial institutions.

I'm fighting for a government that works for people trying to fill a prescription — not just giant drug companies.

I'm fighting for a government that works for everyone who sees the climate crisis bearing down on us — not just Big Oil.

I'm fighting for a government and an economy that works for everyone. That means running for re-election to pass more of the big, bold action we need — like a wealth tax, universal child care, and an end to Washington corruption.

But none of us can get this done alone. It takes a grassroots movement where we fight side by side. So Danielle, if you're able to, can you please pitch in $100 or anything you can to support this movement and power our re-election? Any amount will help hit our powerfully important August fundraising goal before tomorrow.

If you've saved payment info with ActBlue Express, your donation will process automatically:

Here's how I see this: We need to keep making bold change as a country. Not a nibble here, a piece over there. Big, systemic change. The kind of change that will make this government reflect the will of the people.

We've seen what we can accomplish when the American people elect champions for working families.

We overcame swarms of financial industry lobbyists to create the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, which has put $16 billion back in the pockets of Americans who've been cheated.

We beat Big Pharma by allowing Medicare to negotiate for lower prescription drug prices for the first time.

We passed the biggest-ever investment in fighting climate change, which is set to lower carbon emissions by 40 percent.

I'll be the first to say there's more we've got to do, including codifying Roe v. Wade into federal law. If we can come together and expand our Senate majority, and if we can take back the House, we can make more transformational change — not just by the skin of our teeth, but as an unapologetic Democratic majority.

So I'm running for re-election to stay in the fight.

If you're in a place to make a contribution, can you donate $100 or whatever you can to help hit our important August fundraising goal, win our re-election campaign, and build a government that works for working people?

Thanks for being a part of this,

Elizabeth

re: Free tax filing

There's no reason it should cost an arm and a leg to file your taxes. It should be fast and free.
Warren for Senate

They're at it again, Danielle.

For decades, big tax prep companies — like H&R Block and TurboTax — have lobbied the government with one main goal: making the tax-filing process as time-consuming and wallet-emptying as possible for you.

They've padded their profits by cornering consumers into using their products, even using deceptive practices and outright lies to hide the free options they're supposed to offer.

So I called them out. We fought back. And last year, we won a big victory, securing funding the IRS can use to stand up its own free filing service.

But the tax prep giants sprang into action as soon as the IRS announced a pilot program. They hired fancy lobbyists. They launched a slick campaign. They're trying to stop this reform in its tracks.

Once again, they're taking the money they've made by ripping off taxpayers — and using it to lobby for the ability to rip off even more taxpayers.

So once again, I'm calling them out — and side by side, we'll fight back and beat them.

Congresswoman Katie Porter and I just wrote a letter to the big tax prep companies. We're asking them to account for how much they've spent on lobbying against free tax filing, how much they'd stand to lose if this reform takes effect, and what kinds of contact they've had with government officials.

We're working to uncover what they're doing (and spending) behind the scenes. And we'll keep fighting to stop them from sabotaging free tax filing.

I also just released a report on how the tax prep industry enabled Meta to harvest millions of taxpayers' sensitive personal and financial data to use for advertising purposes. I'm calling on agencies to investigate and to prosecute any violations of the law.

I'm going to stay on this, Danielle. I'll keep working to hold off the lobbyists and keep them from blocking this reform. Because there's no reason it should cost an arm and a leg to file your taxes. It should be fast and free. And, these companies should not be able to violate the privacy of taxpayers.

This is part of how we make our government work for working people, not just giant corporations that can hire armies of lobbyists.

We've seen that when we fight, we win. We beat Big Pharma to lower prescription drug prices for seniors. We beat billionaire corporations to make sure they'd pay federal income taxes on their massive profits. And we'll beat the tax prep lobby to make it fast and free to file your taxes.

I'm able to stay in this fight because of your support. So if it makes sense for you right now, I'm asking you to pitch in $100 or any amount to our re-election campaign. Every contribution adds to help hit our important August fundraising goal. We haven't quite reached it yet, and we've only got two days left.

Thanks for being a part of this,

Elizabeth

I’m fighting to make Supreme Court justices follow a basic code of ethics, and I’m working to root corruption out of Washington, but I can’t do it alone.

The "fullest" accounting yet of the gifts that Justice Clarence Thomas has gotten from wealthy benefactors.
Warren for Senate

Danielle,

Have you ever tried counting grains of sand on a beach?

That's what it can feel like trying to keep track of all the benefits Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas has been getting from billionaires.

ProPublica — which had broken news about Justice Thomas's undisclosed gifts from a GOP megadonor — recently rounded up dozens of luxury trips he'd been treated to, from yacht rides to private jet flights to stays at high-end resorts. They called it the "fullest" accounting yet, but also "almost certainly an undercount."

Who's paying for this lavish lifestyle? Billionaires. Business magnates. An oil baron.

Allowing the rich and powerful to give secret gifts to Supreme Court justices undermines our judicial system's ideal of Equal Justice Under Law. When someone gets their day in court, they should never have to worry whether their judge is making decisions to benefit their rich friends or personal financial interests rather than to uphold the rule of law.

This is an assault on our democracy. So I'm fighting to make Supreme Court justices follow a basic code of ethics, including tightening rules on gifts like the ones Justice Thomas has been showered with. It's all part of my work to root corruption out of Washington and make our government work for everyone, not just the rich and powerful.

And Danielle, grassroots donors make it possible for me to stay in the fight to advocate for these plans. Can you pitch in $100 or any amount to our re-election campaign? Every donation powers our movement to root out corruption in Washington and put our government on the side of working people.

If you've saved payment info with ActBlue Express, your donation will process automatically:

Here's some of what my Judicial Ethics and Anti-Corruption Act would accomplish:

  • Make the Supreme Court follow a binding Code of Conduct Ban federal judges from owning or trading individual stocks
  • Tighten restrictions on gifts and privately funded travel (yes, Justice Clarence Thomas, I'm looking at you)
  • Overhaul the broken recusal process (once again looking at you, Justice Thomas, after you didn't recuse yourself from a case around the insurrection that could possibly have had consequences for your wife)
  • Create new tools to hold judges accountable for ethical misconduct

Meanwhile, I'm also fighting to…

  • Ban all individual stock ownership by members of Congress, Cabinet secretaries, senior congressional staff, federal judges, White House staff, and other senior agency officials while in office
  • End lobbying as we know it
  • Padlock the revolving door between big businesses and our government
  • Limit the influence of private defense contractors on our military
  • Keep big bank executives off Federal Reserve Bank boards of directors Create a new, independent anti-corruption agency dedicated to enforcing federal ethics laws
  • And more

I'm not alone in this fight. I've got some terrific partners in Washington. And I know that I'm fighting alongside you too, Danielle.

Together, we can remove the toxic influence that big money has on our government. And we can pass policies that put power in the hands of working people, where it belongs.

I'll keep fighting to root corruption out of our federal judiciary, and I need you in this fight with me. If you're able, can you please chip in $100 or anything you can to support our campaign? This issue is powerfully important to our democracy, and your support ensures we can keep fighting to pass this plan.

Thanks for being a part of this,

Elizabeth

re: The series finale of The Sopranos

The last time Congress increased the federal minimum wage was sixteen years ago.

Warren for Senate

The way I see it, no one in this country should work full-time and still live in poverty — period.

But today's federal minimum wage can't keep a full-time working mama and her baby out of poverty. Not to mention, recent studies have found that a minimum wage earner working a 40-hour week can't afford a two-bedroom apartment anywhere in the country.

The last time Congress increased it was 2007. Sixteen years ago. Three presidencies ago. The first-ever iPhone was just announced for sale. The series finale of The Sopranos had just aired.

Yeah, that long ago.

That is wrong, and that is why I'm fighting to raise it.

So I'm co-sponsoring a bill with Senator Bernie Sanders and dozens of our colleagues to increase the minimum wage to $17 an hour.

It's long past time to deliver a raise to tens of millions of hardworking Americans, and we need to mobilize as much support as possible to get momentum behind this bill. So add your name if you agree our government must raise the minimum wage, and let's fight side by side to make it happen.

ADD MY NAME

This is an issue that hits close to home for me.

After my daddy had a heart attack, he couldn't work for a while. Bills piled up. We lost the family station wagon, and it looked like the house could be next.

But one day, I walked in on my mother pacing back and forth in her bedroom, with a black dress laid out on the bedspread. The dress that only came out for weddings, funerals, and graduations. "We are not going to lose this house," she kept saying. "We are not going to lose this house."

She'd never worked outside the home. She was terrified. But she knew what she had to do. She put on that dress, she walked down the street to Sears, and she got a minimum wage job that saved our house and saved our family.

But families in that same situation today wouldn't be able to say the same thing. The cost of living has skyrocketed while wages have stayed stagnant. Greedy corporations are taking advantage of working families any chance they get. CEOs are being paid 399 times as much as a typical worker. (We've also got a bill to address this, the Tax Excessive CEO Pay Act, which would tax companies on the basis of their CEO-to-worker compensation ratio.)

Raising the federal minimum wage  is part of how we put our government on the side of working people — not just the rich and powerful.

But to get this done, Washington needs to see the American people demanding action. Add your name if you support raising the minimum wage to $17 an hour.

Thanks for being a part of this,

Elizabeth

P.S. Do you have any feedback on this plan or for our campaign in general? Please share with me here. I appreciate hearing your thoughts.
