Danielle, I've got a question for you

What will you be listening for tomorrow?
Warren Democrats

Danielle,

President Joe Biden has a powerful story to tell in tomorrow night's State of the Union speech.

Ever since the American people elected him and Vice President Kamala Harris, they've delivered victory after victory for working people.

We've got more work ahead of us to fight corruption, strengthen our democracy, and rebuild the middle class. And we're in this fight together.

So I want to know, Danielle: What are you hoping President Biden will discuss tomorrow night? What are your top priorities for what we need to fight for? Fill in this quick two-minute survey to let me know.

TAKE THE SURVEY

Personally, I'm ready to hear President Biden speak again about child care. My guest in the House chamber will be Eugénie Ouedraogo, a nursing student in Massachusetts whose story about struggling to find quality, affordable child care has stuck with me for years. She inspires me to keep fighting for universal child care. And I know President Biden is staying in the fight, too.

Two years ago, when he first addressed a joint session of Congress, he laid out some big plans, including:

  • Upgrading our nation's infrastructure
  • Cracking down on wealthy tax cheats and tax-dodging corporations
  • Lowering prescription drug prices
  • Tackling the climate crisis head on

In the past two years, we've made real progress with landmark legislation like the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act and the Inflation Reduction Act:

  • American workers are rebuilding roads and bridges across the country
  • The IRS is getting the resources it needs to target wealthy tax cheats
  • Giant corporations will have to pay a minimum tax on profits over $1 billion (based on the plan we laid out in our presidential campaign)
  • No one on Medicare is paying more than $35 a month for insulin
  • Big Pharma will finally be forced to lower some prices
  • We're on track to reduce carbon emissions about 40 percent by 2030

Of course, Republicans in Congress fought us every step of the way, and with our slim Democratic majorities, we didn't win every battle.

So you know I'm staying in the fight — for universal child care, for paid family leave, for broad-based student debt cancellation to make it through the Supreme Court, and a whole lot more.

And I'm grateful that you're in this fight by my side, Danielle. You help shape our movement's priorities, which is why I want to hear from you right now:

Tomorrow, when President Biden outlines his priorities for the rest of 2023 and beyond, what will you be listening for? What are you most determined to keep fighting for? Click here to submit a response and send me your thoughts.

Thanks for being a part of this,

Elizabeth
