Kevin McCarthy — who'd be in line to become speaker — can't stop kissing up to Donald Trump and has proven that he's not interested in holding his party accountable for its dangerous rhetoric and threats to democracy. Republican Senator Rick Scott has a big idea to sunset Social Security and Medicare every five years. But wait, there's more: Republican Senator Ron Johnson actually wants those programs on the chopping block every year. The GOP is only one Senate seat and five House seats away from taking back control of Congress. They're this close to taking back power and bringing us backwards. But that also means we're this close to not only holding onto our Democratic majorities — but expanding them with more members who understand what working families need, and who will fight for them. So here's my plan for the next 7 days: I'm going to do everything I can — travel to swing states, hold rallies, campaign for Warren Democrats, and use our platforms to reach and turn out voters — to make sure that Democrats come out strong. To prevent Republicans from handing our government back over to billionaires, giant corporations, and hateful right-wing extremists. But these elections are looking as close as they come. Our success is going to come down to grassroots organizing and voter turnout across the country. We’ve got to keep up the fight right now
