Good riddance.

I'm not letting him off the hook.

Good riddance, Elon Musk.

This week the richest man in the world's status as a Special Government Employee came to an end. But let's be clear: he isn't off the hook for his chaos and corruption.

We must hold him accountable.

Elon Musk's brief but destructive rampage through our federal government has caused — and will continue to cause — real pain and chaos for millions of Americans.

Despite his department's silly name, he made our government much less efficient — like by firing hundreds of thousands of federal workers and dedicated civil servants and making others send weekly emails to him about what they're up to. Or cutting Social Security resources and creating longer wait times, backlogged cases, and months of longer waiting times for benefits. Or cruelly halting humanitarian aid efforts in real-time — costing lives.

Estimates have shown that his mass firings will actually cost the US government upwards of $135 billion this fiscal year because of all the rehirings, paid administrative leave, and lost productivity.

While he was operating under the veil of "rooting out waste" in our government, he was cutting funding for cancer research, veterans programs, and aid for American farmers, all while making $8 million a day from government contracts.

And while he said he was "eliminating fraud" he and his band of 22-year-old programmers were gaining access to the private financial information of millions of Americans.

Again, we're not letting him off the hook. That's why I'm calling for an investigation into conflicts of interest at DOGE. I'm pressing for the Justice Department to look into whether DOGE minions potentially violated criminal conflicts of interest or violated federal ethics rules at the Treasury Department, the CFPB, and the IRS.

DOGE is still operating under leaders with clear conflicts of interest: Like holding stock in companies that are subject to investigation by the CFPB, or owning shares of Intuit, the parent company of TurboTax, while also working to end the IRS' free Direct File program.

The American people deserve accountability. Neither Elon Musk or those working on his behalf in DOGE are above the law, and I'm going to stay on it.

Thanks for being a part of this,

Elizabeth

This is sickening

This will be the greatest transfer of wealth from the poor to the billionaires in all of US History.

I am really, really angry, Danielle.

Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos are out there popping bottles of champagne that cost more than someone's monthly rent because of what Republicans just did.

In the dead of night, Republicans in the House just passed Trump's "big, beautiful" spending plan.

If this gets signed into law, this will be the greatest transfer of wealth from the poor to the billionaires in all of US History.

They essentially just spent this past week debating whether 14 million people should lose their health care, or if 20 million people should lose their health care. Whether 10 million babies should go hungry, or 5 million babies should be hungry.

All so the government can hand that money over to billionaires through tax giveaways.

Billionaires like Elon Musk, who had his net worth grow $186 billion in the last year and is on track to become the world's first trillionaire. He and his peers in the "Top 10 Richest Americans Club" together became $365 billion richer in the past year. That's a billion a day.

That's who this bill is for. That's who has the most to gain from this legislation. That's what they are getting for bending the knee to Trump. It's sick.

It will raise prices for everyone who Trump promised he would lower costs for. Workers who made an annual average of $50,000 in 2023.

So, what's next? We need to do everything in our power to stop this from passing the Senate.

This isn't a done deal yet.

The last time we came together when Trump tried to repeal health care, we stopped him. Americans told their stories and raised their voices — with disabled activists literally putting their bodies on the line in the halls of Congress.

It mattered.

Even though the Republican House voted to repeal the Affordable Care Act, even though they popped over to celebrate on the White House lawn, even though they may have thought they had it in the bag, we kept fighting back, and we defeated them.

I know we can do this. We have to.

Don't let anyone tell you it won't make a difference to speak out.

I'll be in touch on the ways we can fight back on this.

Thanks for being a part of this,

Elizabeth

The Trump administration is going after me

Hi Danielle, it's LaMonica McIver. Elizabeth Warren let me know I could reach out because the Trump administration just charged me with crimes for engaging in congressional oversight.

The Trump administration just charged me with crimes for engaging in congressional oversight. This is a first—and it's a flashing red light for our democracy.

I went to an ICE facility in my district to conduct oversight because that is my job and my lawful right as a member of Congress. It's clear: Trump and his administration don't want transparency or oversight, and they want to punish any person who dares to speak up.

These baseless, politically motivated charges against me make that even more obvious. We must stand up together against an administration that weaponizes law enforcement to politically persecute its opponents before it's too late. Democrats stand ready to fight back against the Trump administration's overreach, and protect democracy and our Constitutional separation of powers.

We need your help. I'm asking you to split a donation between me and Elizabeth Warren so we have the resources to win this battle for our democracy. We need 500 more grassroots donations before our deadline at midnight to make sure Republicans know we won't be intimidated.

If you've saved payment info with ActBlue Express, your donation will process automatically:

This is far bigger than just me—the rule of law is at stake. Our democracy as we know it is under threat.

To ensure everyone who dares to speak truth to power is safe from political persecution, we must make as much noise and as big an impact as possible. Split a donation between me and Elizabeth Warren and share this with your friends.

We're in this together,
LaMonica

Danielle, Donald Trump is gaslighting us all.

Republicans are planning a middle-of-the-night vote tonight on their budget plan. Their plan that would give trillions of dollars in tax breaks to billionaires all by slashing Medicaid, food assistance, and educational programs.

Mind you, this is Republicans' second draft of this bill. The first one didn't pass because, to them, it didn't cut health care for ENOUGH people.

Ahead of the vote, Donald Trump was asked today if he could guarantee that voters will not lose health insurance under this bill.

His response was: "Oh, they won't lose health insurance."

He's lying.

Independent analysts say 14 MILLION PEOPLE will lose their health insurance under this bill — all to subsidize Jeff Bezos' next $500 million yacht.

They're using lies and late-night votes to try to avoid accountability for this fact. But we see right through them — and we're not going to let up.

With the time we have before tonight's vote, now is the time to turn up the pressure. Now is the time to make as much noise as we can and confirm that every representative will defend Medicaid funding tonight.

Click here to find out how to call your representative and urge them to vote NO on any cuts to Medicaid. Our team has provided an easy script for you to follow — and every voice will make a difference right now.

Thank you for being a part of this,

Elizabeth
