Danielle, Happy New Year's Eve — I hope you and your loved ones are safe and healthy. Bruce and I always like to have a quiet New Year's, so tonight, we'll keep up our tradition of rewatching Casablanca for the zillionth time. Every time I watch it, Casablanca gives me hope. It's a story about love, loyalty, and courage. It's about how people survive and how they flourish — even against all odds. And it's about hope — young people on the threshold of building a new life, and old people looking for a safe landing place. At the edge of a big transformation — praying and fighting for a brighter dawn. What better way to start the new year to come? 2023 will be a better year, but not because there's any magic associated with turning a page on a calendar. It will be a better year because so many people have fought so hard throughout these past few challenging years — and will continue to fight. So many people just worked their tails off to defend our democracy in the midterms, paving the way for a better 2023 than the pundits predicted. So many workers across the country have been unionizing and fighting back against unjust working conditions — to demand better for themselves and for workers everywhere. So many people pushed uphill for student debt cancellation, investments in fighting climate change, a tax hike on billionaire corporations, and lower prescription drug prices — and now change is on the way. We have a lot of work ahead of us in 2023, and I'm asking if you can chip in to help keep up the fight, and the hope. Please make a donation, if you can, to help hit our fundraising goal before tonight's last FEC deadline of the year. $15 or whatever you can contribute would go a long way to help make our movement even stronger for 2023 and beyond. If you've saved payment info with ActBlue Express, your donation will process automatically: | If you can believe it, we launched our presidential exploratory committee four years ago on this day based on a few key pillars: Calling out what's broken, laying out plans to fix it, and building a grassroots movement — where everyone has an equal voice — to make change. Today, we're still following those same values through Warren Democrats. We're still fighting to put political and economic power in the hands of the people — where it belongs. And we're going to keep up the fight in 2023 and beyond. But it's only possible with the continued support of people like you. Let's keep working side by side to make sure the new year is a brighter one for everyone who's struggling and everyone who needs a government that finally is on their side. If you can, please make a donation before midnight — the final FEC deadline of the year — to power our grassroots movement. Have a safe and happy New Year's Eve, and thanks for being a part of this, Elizabeth |
