Blog de Dunlap: We can win this. But we need to act now

In just a few weeks, voters will decide whether or not Trump gets two more years of a Congress that bends the knee, rubber-stamps his agenda, and lets him do whatever he wants.

We know what’s at stake. Now it’s time to do everything we can to win.

Since March of this year, our campaign has contributed more than $1 million to state parties and Democratic committees on the front lines of the upcoming midterms. With Election Day fast approaching, I’m making sure Democrats have the resources to compete in the races that will decide control of Congress.

We have a real chance to change the direction of this country. I believe we can win this fight, and I’m determined to do everything I can to make it happen.

If Democrats win back our majorities in November, we can block Trump’s extreme judicial nominees, hold his administration accountable, and fight for the things working families desperately need.

I’m talking about making child care affordable for every family. Making the ultrawealthy pay their fair share through a wealth tax. Banning members of Congress from trading stocks while they’re supposed to be serving the public. And putting real guardrails on AI so giant tech companies can’t put profits ahead of working people.

These aren’t pipe dreams. We can make this happen if we win Congress back this year.

I’ve done my homework: This will be close. We need to gain four seats to take back the Senate. That means defending competitive seats in Michigan and Georgia while going on offense in Maine, North Carolina, Ohio, and Alaska.

These races will be tough, but Democrats have a real shot. Our investments are already helping state parties, and campaigns hire organizers, train canvassers, air ads, and reach voters. But with Election Day just weeks away, and when every single resource counts, we need to keep fighting.
