Hi Danielle, No tricks, NO donation ask. Just a quick note from me (and a Halloween treat at the bottom). I know the flood of emails and texts asking for money is exhausting — and that times are tough right now for so many. I want to be direct and say that I never expect you to be able to respond to each message with a donation — and we’re grateful to have you on this team no matter how much or how often you’re able to donate. Chipping in with a donation is just one way to get involved. It’s important that we do what we can — donate, make calls, put up yard signs, put out messages on social media — because we’re so close in so many races. I’ve kept it up because I’m trying to help — and I know you are too. Take the email I sent two days ago for Abdul El-Sayed: The amount of billionaire-backed Republican PAC money pouring into Michigan to try and defeat him is mind-blowing. The contributions to that email can help keep his ads on television, where he can respond directly to those attacks in this closing week of his race. It can help make sure his field organizers have gas money. It can ensure there’s coffee in the pot and cookies on the table when volunteers get back from door knocking. And it will help build strong teams for elections to come. This team has supported candidates like him across the country: Angie Nixon, Mary Pelota, James Talarico, Juliana Stratton, Peggy Flanagan, Sherrod Brown, Troy Jackson. Good people whose races are on a knife’s edge. Good people who may win or lose based on a handful of votes. And whether they win or lose will have a lot to do with where our nation goes next. On whether we can hold Trump and his administration accountable for their corruption and self-dealing. On whether we can make child care affordable for every family, make the ultrawealthy pay their fair share through a wealth tax, and put real guardrails on AI so giant tech companies can’t put profits ahead of working people. On whether our democracy survives. I don’t want to wake up on the day after the election and talk about the good people who lost by just a bit — and say I wish I’d done a little bit more. And I don’t just want us to win. I want us to win BIG. Big enough that nobody can dismiss the results. Big enough to send a clear message that this country is ready to go in a different direction. So I’m giving it everything I’ve got. I’m grateful for everything that every one of you has already done. And I’m grateful for the chance to be in this fight with you. Happy Halloween, and thanks for being a part of this, Elizabeth P.S. Now here’s a treat: Bailey, a.k.a. Odysseus on his journey home, hopes you’re having a happy and safe Halloween!
