Elon Musk, $446 million, and the power of our people

Hi Danielle,

As of this message, Elon Musk has poured $446 million into these midterm elections — and that’s only the money that’s been disclosed so far.

Nearly half a billion dollars (and counting) to help Republicans win.

Think about that: the world's first trillionaire — the richest man on Earth — is trying to buy his own government.

And why has he done that? Because he’s scared.

Elon knows that a Democratic Congress could mean no more tax breaks for billionaires while working families struggle to get by. No more government contracts immediately coming his way. No more loose AI “regulations.” No more dumping millions of dollars into one election to get his way.

A Democratic Congress would mean more accountability. And Elon knows that with Democrats in power, he will be held accountable, so he’s trying to buy himself a Congress that won’t ask questions.

That’s not democracy. That’s a purchase order. It’s an investment he’s expecting a return on.

Elon Musk has his money. But what we have is the many. A grassroots movement — including you — of people who are sick and tired of our government working great for people like Elon Musk.

On Tuesday, it's voters — not Elon Musk — who will decide the election. Who will determine whether our government answers to working people or the billionaires trying to buy their own government.

Elon understands the power of his money, but he’s underestimating the power of people who organize, show up, and make their voices heard.

So please, Danielle, take today and reach out to your friends and family about their plan to vote tomorrow, if they haven’t voted early already.

Let’s use every minute we have left to counteract his hundreds of millions and show him that the many will defeat the money.
