“The boss wants this money.”

Trump will always put himself first. Always.

Danielle:

New reporting by The Wall Street Journal shows that Trump is the most corrupt president in history and that there are no limits to how far he is willing to go to use the presidency for his own enrichment.

A WSJ headline thats says The Boss Wants this Money: Inside Trumps Unprecedented Fundraising Operation

Here's what they found:

Almost every night in the White House, Trump calls his fundraiser, Meredith O'Rourke, for an update. He asks which companies and donors have cut checks and which haven't — and for how much.

He's keeping score.

Then the Journal discovered something even more troubling. When a company has an issue with the federal government that reaches Trump's attention, he wants to know how much money that company has given him. If they haven't hit his fundraising goals, he rubs it in.

Trump's fundraiser told companies:

"This is very important to the president. He's asked me to call you and ask you for this donation."

In some calls, she refers to Trump as "the boss," saying:

"The boss wants this money."

The president of the United States is acting like a mob boss — keeping tabs on which corporations are giving him millions while those same companies may have business before the federal government.

And we're not talking about pocket change either. Trump has demanded that corporations hand over $25 million, even $50 million, to his personal and political projects.

That's not public service. It's a shakedown. And it's at the heart of Trump's corruption: He sees the presidency as a tool only for personal enrichment.

When it comes to his own money? Trump is like a dog with a bone. Using every tool at his disposal to line his pockets.

But when it comes to making life more affordable for you and other working Americans? Trump doesn't care. He thinks it's a big yawn that some Americans are being forced to sell their blood just to afford groceries.

And with his rubber-stamp Congress, there's far too little standing in his way of keeping on in that manner. Which is why we have to, have to, have to take back control of Congress in the midterms, so that we can stop his self-dealing and put policies in place that will actually help people.

Right now, Trump's allies are outspending us in many of the races that matter most. Every dollar we raise between now and November will help us reach the voters who need to hear the truth: Trump doesn’t care about you and your family. He will always put himself first.

If you're able, will you pitch in $100 — or any amount — to power our campaign to expose the lies, take back Congress, and get our government to ACTUALLY work for working people and not for the president's personal interests?
