Add your name if you endorse my plan to reform the Supreme Court

I don’t know about you, but I’m sick and tired of waking up every day waiting on pins and needles to learn whether or not Trump’s hand-picked Supreme Court is going to uphold our rights.

Right now, we are one court ruling away from women losing access to mifepristone — the safest, most common form of abortion in America.

The Court also just took a sledgehammer to one of the most important civil rights laws in American history — opening the floodgates for states like Alabama and Tennessee to silence Black voters and redraw their Congressional maps.

How can we stop a small group of people from drowning out the will of the people?

Our immediate priority is to take back our Senate majority. Donald Trump could appoint two more justices to the Supreme Court if he has the Senate votes to confirm them — and we must put an immediate check on this.

But I'm also keeping an eye on the big picture: reforming the Court.

That means passing my Judicial Ethics and Anti-Corruption Act — and expanding the Court to rebalance it.

My plan would:

Require Supreme Court justices to follow a binding Code of Conduct
Strengthen restrictions on judicial gifts and privately funded travel
Ban judges from owning individual stocks and securities, commercial real estate, trusts, and private companies (can you believe that’s not the law already?)
Overhaul the broken recusal process, so Supreme Court justices would have to publicly respond — and justify their decision — if a litigant in a case asks the justice to recuse themselves

There are real solutions to the root cause of this crisis but it’s going to take big ideas — and big, structural changes.

Add your name if you endorse this plan. To undo the damage done by the right-wing takeover of our federal courts, we must take back the Senate to block Trump from nominating two more justices, root corruption out of the judiciary, and rebalance the Supreme Court by expanding it.
