At 4 o'clock this morning, Senate Republicans gave the green light for the IRS to drop ALL investigations into Trump and his family.

That’s right, 4 a.m. Almost like they were hoping no one would notice.

Make no mistake: We noticed.

Here's how it went down: Trump's own acting attorney general ordered the IRS to drop every investigation into Trump, his family, their businesses, and their affiliates — including audits that could have cost him more than $100 million.

Gone.

In exchange, Trump dropped a lawsuit he had filed against the IRS — an agency he controls — that he was using as leverage to cut this deal. Tax experts say this is nothing like a normal IRS settlement. I'll call it what it is: corruption.

Democrats brought a bill to the floor to block it. Republicans killed it.

If Trump has been evading taxes — and his record strongly suggests that's possible — we will literally never know.

The most powerful man in the world just used that power to make sure he never has to pay his taxes. That's not America. That's a monarchy. And it’s a gut punch to every American who works hard and plays by the rules.

I won’t stand for it.

I've introduced the Presidential Tax Transparency Act: the President, Vice President, and candidates for those offices must disclose their tax returns for the last 10 years. Posted publicly. And if they refuse, the IRS provides them directly.

No more hiding. No more 4 a.m. sweetheart deals. I'm not going to stop fighting until we get this done. But I need your support.
